Christmas at the Caverns

Christmas at the Caverns

Do you wish you could magically travel to a Christmas wonderland? You might not have magical powers, but you can still visit a holiday wonderland by attending Christmas at the Caverns at Natural Bridge Caverns in San Antonio. The spectacular event takes place on Thursdays and Fridays leading up to Christmas. You can also visit on Saturday, Dec. 23, for some pre-holiday cheer. The park is open from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 and 15. On Dec. 21-23, it’s accessible from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Adult tickets are $27.99, and children can get in for $23.99. The Caroling in the Caverns tour and Twisted Trails adventure are an additional $10 each.

This year’s Christmas at the Caverns is the perfect blend of old and new. Get the details.

Your Christmas Favorites Are Back

If you’ve been to Christmas at the Caverns before, you likely have some favorites. The most popular attractions are back by popular demand. That includes Caroling in the Caverns. The extra $10 is well worth it so you can listen to Christmas carols 180 feet below the ground. The music bounces off the cave’s walls and consumes you.

“Spelunker” Claus is also back. He’s taken some time off from preparing for Christmas to read stories to kids. He’ll even pose for pictures so your family can take home a keepsake.

Do you want a bit of an adventure? You’ll want to try the AMAZEn’ Reindeer Roundup. Your family will enter a 5,000-square-foot maze that’s decorated to the hilt. Enjoy a little competition while your family rushes around to find Santa’s reindeer.

Oh, and then there’s the Christmas campfire. This is truly a favorite for people at Christmas at the Caverns. Your entire crew can sit around the campfire, roast some s’mores, sip hot chocolate, and play games. You’re sure to make some memories around the campfire.

What’s New This Year

Don’t spend all your time enjoying the favorites. You’ll want to set aside some time for the new attractions as well. Twisted Trails might end up being the most popular of the new attractions. This six-story attraction is basically part zip-line, part explorer course. It’s not your average zip line, though. Forget about going in a straight line. You’ll travel along curved rails during this adrenaline-pumping adventure.

Want something a little less heart pounding? Take the Cowboy Christmas Hayride. Your family will hop in a wagon and explore the ranch while taking in holiday displays.

This year will also include the Underground Nativity Experience, Giant Snow Globe, and ice skating. You’re sure to have a great time.
