Make Plans To Attend The Jalapeño Fiestaval!
The jalapeño has been a staple of our regional cuisine for thousands of years, so it’s about time we celebrated this spicy pepper for the treasure that it is. On April 13, Alamo Beer Company will host the Jalapeño Fiestaval, a weekend party with spicy dishes and cold local brews.

When and Where

The festival will take place at the Alamo Beer Co. on Saturday, April 13. The event runs from noon until 5 p.m. The Alamo Beer Co. is located at 202 Lamar, San Antonio, TX 78202. General admission is $5 in advance and $7 at the event. Alamo Beer Co. will offer free parking in their lot, and you can also find parking in the surrounding lots starting at $2.

What to Expect

Brace yourself for a wide variety of food and treats featuring the famously piquant jalapeño chile pepper! A lineup of amazing local vendors will each bring their own unique offerings to the brewery, and live music will fill the air. San Antonio will be preparing to kick-off the annual citywide Fiesta, so the atmosphere will be bright and lively! The dishes will undoubtedly heat up your palate, so you can always cool things down with a cold brew from the gracious hosts at Alamo Beer Co.

Can You Take the Heat?

If you’re feeling particularly bold this weekend, you can sign up for the jalapeño eating contest for a chance at a cash prize. The first-place winner takes home a cool $100 and a pack of Alamo Beer, and the second- and third-place winners can also expect to walk away with more than just tingling lips.

Did You Know?

While most animals avoid chiles due to their heat, many birds devour them with no fear. That’s simply because they can’t taste the capsaicin compound that gives peppers their potent burn. Sure, peppers are loaded with vitamins, but if you can’t experience that thrilling spice, you’re missing out.
