What do you do when you’re the “Strawberry Capital of Texas?” You have a strawberry festival, of course. That’s just what happens in Poteet year after year, and it’s almost time for the 2019 festival. The 72nd Annual Poteet Strawberry Festival will be on April 5–7, and tickets are $10 for Friday and $20 for Saturday and Sunday. Want to save some money? Get tickets for $5 less by purchasing them online instead of buying them at the gate.
If you want to ride any of the carnival rides, you’ll also need to pay for those. They’re $1 each, or you can get a wristband for $35. The wristbands last all day.

The Music
There’ll be more than two dozen performers at the festival over the course of three days, and they are going to bring the entertainment. The Randy Rogers Band is sure to impress country fans, and Michael Salgado is there for fans of Tejano music. You can even listen to an AC/DC tribute band here. The Rodeo
It wouldn’t be a Poteet Strawberry Festival without a rodeo. Grab a spot and watch daredevils compete in bull riding, bareback riding, tie-down roping, and more. This is a first-class rodeo, and you’ll find yourself oohing and aahing along with the rest of the crowd. You don’t even have to pay extra to attend the rodeo, so be sure to grab a spot. Just remember that around 100,000 people are expected to be at the festival, so grab your seat early to make sure you aren’t stuck in the back.

The Food
You know there’ll be strawberries here, but you might not know there’ll be other tasty food as well. You’ll find all your favorite festival foods right here, and it’s affordable, so you can easily get your fill. Be sure to get some of the sausage wraps and fajitas, and then grab some chocolate-dipped strawberries for dessert.
