San Antonio is a great place to live if you’re a runner. And this time of year you don’t have to work too hard to avoid the heat. Whether you picked up running as a New Year’s resolution or you’ve been devoted to the sport your whole life, there’s a great race coming up to show off your skills. Get your running shoes ready for Run the Alamo.
Race Options
This race day really has something for everyone. No matter what distance you’re working with in your runs, there is a fun event for you. All the races will take place on March 3, 2019. They all begin together at 6:45 a.m. with a historic live cannon blast and multiple musket volley start.
The shortest event is the Alamo 3.1 Doughnut Dash. This 5K race will let you see a little bit of the beautiful course and end with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and chocolate milk. There’s also a 10K with a similar course and all the same doughnut perks!
If you run six miles and feel like you’re just hitting your stride, sign up for the Alamo 13.1 Half. With a beautiful course, you’ll really enjoy this race. If you’re not quite ready to take on a half marathon, try the relay. You can split the distance with a partner.
If you’re really ready for a long-distance race, sign up for the Alamo 26.2 Marathon. You’ll push yourself to the limit, and the views will be fantastic. You’ll get to see all five world class missions.
The courses will be open for plenty of time for you to finish even if race day doesn’t go perfectly. The half marathon time limit is four hours, and the full marathon time limit is seven hours. Aid stations will be available every mile to 1.5 miles.
