LEGOLAND® Discovery Center in San Antonio is a perfect place for a family to enjoy entertainment and education. There is something for everyone at the center, including interactive exhibits, rides, shows, and more.

MINILAND San Antonio

Folks who want to get a look at what a tiny San Antonio looks like made entirely out of LEGOS should check out MINILAND. There are more than 1.5 million bricks that have been snapped together to form many of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. The Alamo, River Walk, and the Tower of the Americas are all represented. The Alamadome itself features more than 50,000 bricks and took a team of builders more than 520 hours to complete.

Rides

LEGOLAND Discovery Center visitors who want to go for an amusing ride can enjoy time on The Great LEGO® Race Virtual Reality Experience!, Merlin’s Apprentice, or Kingdom Quest.

  • The Great LEGO® Race Virtual Reality Experience! This ride takes visitors high in the air, deep down into lava caves, and through other exhilarating areas. Players can race brick-built vehicles in a quest to become the champion of the game.
  • Kingdom Quest. Participants on this ride are on a mission to rescue a captured princess. Beastly trolls and sneaky skeletons abound, and players must zap them in order to succeed on their quest.
  • Merlin’s Apprentice. Players take an enchanted cart, traveling faster and faster in the sky, with the goal of becoming Merlin’s next wizarding apprentice.

LEGO 4D Cinema

Many popular LEGO characters are featured in three different movies that run about 20 to 30 minutes each. Special effects include supercharged wind, rain and snow that each can burst off the big screen and help bring the movies to life.

Groups

LEGOLAND® Discovery Center has collaborated with LEGO® Education to create an opportunity for schools to receive unique experiences. Theyy offer workshops designed to teach math, science, engineering and language, and improve skills in communication, collaboration, critical-thinking and problem solving. Scouting groups, birthday parties, and other groups can also visit. Here are some planning tips for groups of 10 kids or more.

  • People who book a group of 10 kids can save up to 60% on tickets
  • For every 10 paying children, one adult gets in free
  • Reservations are made via an online booking request
  • Reservations are made at least two weeks in advance
  • Outside food or bagged lunches are not permitted
  • Meal deals can be booked through their group sales office

LEGOLand Store

Visitors who want to bring home a souvenir from LEGOLand have plenty of options to choose from at the LEGOLand store. The retail shop is open daily at The Shops at Rivercenter to anyone, whether they have a LEGOLAND Discovery Center ticket or not. With items available for many different budgets, the LEGOLand store is an ideal place for people to buy birthday presents or other gifts.
